Join us for an iNaturalist BioBlitz this April to explore and document (urban) biodiversity surrounding your working place at SIB. You can do it on the way to work, or during coffee breaks.

Once, the break-time air belonged to smokers—now, iNaturalist souls step out too, drawn by the quiet call of the wild amid the city’s pulse.”

iNaturalist is a platform that helps identify species with AI and expert input, while contributing to citizen science. Sign up, download iNaturalist, and be part of the discovery!

Instructions:

You can access iNaturalist through the website, which is best for exploration and identification, or using the mobile App which is the most convenient for uploading observations.

  1. Sign up to iNaturalist.
  2. Visit the SIB BioBlitz April 2025 project page. Click on the Join button in the upper right corner. Confirm with the Yes, I want to join button (bottom left corner!).
  3. All your observations will appear in your personal dashboard. In addition, if they were made in April in one of the 500m radius circles of a SIB office or workplace, they will also appear in the  SIB BioBlitz April 2025 project page.

Anyone can join the SIB BioBlitz April 2025 project, this is not restricted to SIB employees.

If your work location does not appear on the SIB BioBlitz map, you can send your address or its Google-map coordinates to Marco Pagni
